We are convieniently located 1 mile east of the 51 and just south of the 101 freeway, easily accessible from any part of the Valley. Physician Laser Centers offers two different laser technologies to help eliminate unwanted hair. Skin type and the color of hair on the treatment area determine what laser technology will provide a patient with the safest and most effective treatment. The Alexanderite high-speed laser can painlessly treat large areas such as a man’s back or chest or a woman’s legs in a short amount of time. If a patient has darker skin or very light hair, treatment with the Emax laser is often recommended. This technology enables us to safely and effectively treat all skin types, including darker skin types 5 and 6. The elos lasers bi-polar radio frequency drives the energy directly to the hair follicle safely without burning the skin. Prior to this technology, only patients with lighter skin were a candidate for laser hair removal. There are three growth cycles for the hair follicle: anagen (active stage), telogen (resting stage) and catagen (getting ready to shed stage). The optimum time to do laser hair removal is in the anagen stage so treatments are typically scheduled every four weeks. Patients begin seeing results after a few treatments and an average treatment cycle often takes about five to seven treatments to achieve a desired result. However, results can vary between patients and treatment areas. Facial hair, as an example, is more difficult to treat and sometimes requires a few more sessions to achieve a desired result. If an area is stubborn, it can sometimes take up to 12 treatments.
